BSA Rechartering
Update
Welcome! A representative of each unit can now complete
the paperwork for renewing a charter online. From Internet Rechartering, you
can indicate returning members, add new members, and update information for
an individual or the chartered organization. The Coastal Empire Council will
be offering a Web Rechartering breakout scenario during the upcoming Program
Preview Conference scheduled for August 13, 2009. We are encouraging each
unit to invite their online Rechartering Representative to this valuable
training.
How to use Internet
Rechartering
The November roundtables will feature additional training on
Internet Rechartering. Each unit must select an adult to be its renewal
processor; this adult must attend the training. Additionally, anyone who
wants to learn more about how Internet Rechartering works can take the
interactive Internet Rechartering tutorial and view the help.

To Renew a Charter Online:
-
Sixty days before your unit's expiration date, select a
person to be your unit's renewal processor.
-
The Council registration window for online Rechartering
will be active from November 1 through February 28, 2010 only. After the
window closes, registrations must be completed manually.
-
The renewal processor needs to attend the planned
online Recharter training to receive training and the unit access code.
-
Sixty to 45 days before the unit's expiration date, the
renewal processor clicks Recharter Now and begins the process.
-
When the online process is completed, the renewal
processor prints the completed charter renewal application.
-
The unit leader and the chartered organization
representative sign the charter renewal application. Bring the application
along with the material you received in your Recharter packet (such as the
Quality Unit application), and all appropriate fees to your district's
charter turn-in meeting or Council Service Center.

ONLINE INTERNET ADVANCEMENT
Process Ranks and Awards for
Packs, Troops, Teams, Crews, Ships, and Posts!
The Coastal Empire Council is excited to offer online advancement to our
local units. This new method for recording advancements is easier and more
efficient because units will enter the information themselves. This ensures
that your units information will be correct, and you can perform it from
your home or office, anytime that's convenient for you.
The Coastal Empire Council will provide each unit with a unit ID.
Information input on Ranks will be recorded based on program identification
and can only be entered in the correct rank and date sequence.
Awards which can be entered through BSA Internet
Advancement do not include nominated awards, such as those for meritorious
action, the Eagle Scout rank, which involves a hand review, and awards which
are controlled by other organizations, even if uniform wear is approved.
To Use Internet Advancement:

Select the unit advancement processor. This person must
have Internet connectivity and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

-
Click Internet Advancement on this page. Follow the
instructions in Internet Advancement to process advancements and print out
an advancement report.

advancement report and submit it to the Council Service Center. Save a
